And in an update to another story we ran last night, Hugh O'Brien from Breaking Belize News has given us a few specifics of how his organization works.
As we told you, Breaking Belize News and its principals are currently before the Court of Appeal, where they have to answer to contempt of court proceedings. That's due to an error they made earlier this year when this online news outfit published a story that wrongly criticized the court of secrecy.
As we told you, we were informed that his role within Breaking Belize News is to act as an editor for their news content. Well, he called us to say that actually, he is one of two registered owners of Breaking Belize News. He says that there he is and 3 other business partners, including Tanya Silva, who you saw at court yesterday, founded BBN. O' Brien stressed that he is not the editor.
He also sent us documents to dispel the suggestion that BBN is a mystery news organization. The documents and website show that their office is located at #38 West Street, San Ignacio, Cayo.
Whenever the contempt proceedings against BBN resume before the Court of Appeal, we'll tell you about it.
