Hon. Marin Asks Who’s Funding Brackett?
posted (October 30, 2019)
Today in Corozal - two northern ministers were busy dealing with the lands issued in Corozal Bay. We'll tel you about that shortly, but first to the Minister's comments about activist Geovanni Brackett.

Last week, Brackett raised many questions about the quality of generic medications which the Ministry is allowing into the country - while other name brand drugs are scarce or difficult to get.

Minister of Health PABLO Marin asked who is paying Brackett?:

Hon. Pablo Marin, Minister of Health
"I don't have anything to say about Brackett, I think Brackett doesn't know what he is talking about. I think he has some mischief or somebody is trying to make the ministry look bad, but I am willing to talk to the pharmacy association for us to be able to look at the different concerns that they have, because that is more legit. A person that is reading something and is holding back the media and paying for air time and VIP room, that's an agenda there and I don't know if they want to make the ministry look bad, or to instill fear on the people, but I can tell the people that the medications that are registered are legit medications that are being looked at entirely and whatever medications we stop is because they are not registered."

"We are protecting the industry, we are protecting the people also for them to get the right medication, but like I said this guy really doesn't know what he is saying. If you have seen PAHO, you can g on their website and you will see that all of them are already working generics. If you get the ones that Brackett is saying, it will cost you much more than the generic, even though the generic is working."
