A House Murder in Boom
posted (November 4, 2019)
Tonight, residents of the Burrel Boom Village in the Belize District are distressed after one of their own was ruthlessly gunned down and killed within the community.

Burrell Boom doesn't regularly make the news for these types of crimes. But, reports to police are that last night, sometime before 9:00, 27-year-old Aaron Baptist was socializing with Lindell Willams inside Willam's home. Someone used that opportunity fire as many as 10 times into the home. When police arrived, Baptist had already passed away form his injuries.

So, what's behind the in house execution? Well, that's what we asked the Head Of National Crimes Investigation, Assistant Commissioner Myvette in Belmopan today:

ACP Joseph Myvette, Head NCIB
"Last night sometime shortly after 8:00pm police were called to the home of one Lindell Williams in Burrell boom village whereupon arrival they observed the motionless body of a male person later identified as Aaron Baptist, 27 years of a Burrell boom address with apparent gunshot injuries lying on the floor motionless and apparently dead. What the police know so far is that Williams along with Baptist were inside the building listening to music when someone entered from the back of the building and apparently just pushed his hand through some hole in the door and fired several shots resulting in the fatal injury to Aaron Baptist."

We are told that he leaves behind 1 child and that he was the secretary of the Burrell Boom Village Council.

There are persistent rumors that Aaron Baptist may have been familiar with the marijuana trade.

Notably, Baptist's brother Brandon Baptist was charged - and twice acquitted for the November 2012 killing of James Norales.
