Bicycle Rider Fatally Knocked Down

A San Jose villager was killed in a hit and run last night around 8:00. It happened between miles 61 and 62 on the Phillip Goldson Highway. 40 year old Jose Sanker was riding his bicycle towards Orange Walk when someone rammed into him from behind. Police gave us more details.

"Sometime after 8:00pm police were called to an area between miles 61 and 62 on the Philip Goldson highway in San Jose village in Orange Walk district whereupon arrival a hispanic male person was seen with injuries to his head and later identified as Jose Sanker 40 years laborer of San Jose village. He was motionless and apparently dead. Also in the ara police discovered a black beach cruiser bicycle with its rear wheel extensively damaged. What the police know so far is that the deceased was headed in the direction of orange walk when he apparently was knocked down from behind by a dark in color rodeo which did not stop as a result the scene was processed and the body was transported to the northern regional hospital where it was pronounced dead. In that regard police are seeking the public's assistance in locating this dark in color rodeo which was involved in the fatal road traffic accident."
