Port Authority Wrapping Up Report On Water Taxi Explosion
posted (November 4, 2019)
Last week, we showed you our interviews with 2 of the victims of the boat explosion that happened near the Swing Bridge in Belize City, back in May of this year.

You'll remember that 2 little girls, 10-year-old Yamiri Yasmin Guy, and her sister, 8-year-old Kimberly Melissa Guy, lost their lives in the blast. 8 tourists were also severely injured.

Well, Roselia Catch, the mother of the two girls, and American Tourist Joseph Lee from Indiana have complained to us. They say that they still don't know how or why this tragic accident happened because the Belize Port Authority has still hasn't released its final report into the investigation.

Today, Ports Commissioner Merlene Bailey-Martinez told us that her office intends to release the findings of her report in a few days. She said that the reason for the delay was that she had to seek advice from the DPP's office on certain legal issues.

As soon as that report is released, and we've gotten access to it, we'll tell you what the Port Authority has to say about the explosion.
