Man’s House Burns Day After Gun Arrest

Bruce Reneau was arrested on Friday morning for possession of an unlicensed firearm and by that evening, his house was in danger of burning to the ground.

Police say that they have not ruled out arson as the cause of the fire.

"On the first of November sometime around 10am police conducted a search at Bruce Reneau's home on Iguana street where during the search they discovered a 38 revolver and three 38 rounds of ammunition at the time he was accompanied by a female minor. Both persons were arrested and escorted to the station where they have since been charged. Later on on the same 1st of November sometime shortly after 6pm police were again called to said area where they were informed that his residence was on fire upon their arrival they did observe that his residence was on fire and the fire department was also present the building was partially destroyed by fire at that point in time. In relation to this police are looking at several leads in regards to this investigation relating to fire since no one was at home at the time of the fire."

The cause of the fire will be determined and reported on by the Fire department.
