Belize Off EU Blacklist
posted (November 5, 2019)
After many tense months of legislative back and forth - it has been announced that Belize will be removed from European Union's blacklist of tax havens.

A report from Reuters says that the decision will be formally adopted on Friday. Eight jurisdictions are expected to remain on the list, including Trinidad and Tobago, and the three U.S. territories of American Samoa, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

And while this crisis - which threatened to cripple the offshore sector - is over - another could be coming on the horizon.

This time, because the EU is requiring that cooperating jurisdictions must have harmonization of taxes. We'll see how that one goes.
