Shyne Suggested Faber Petty and Vindictive
posted (November 7, 2019)

And while Faber wants to hug up with Finnegan, either now or later, it doesn't seem that he's eager to do the same with his nephew, Shyne Barrow.

As we told you, at the Saldivar launch on Sunday - Shyne said John Saldivar was NOT "malicious, vindictive and victimizing and petty" - which clearly suggested that his opponent is all those things.

This was echoed by another speaker, Minister of State Frank "Pawpa" Mena.

We asked Faber about it today:

Jules Vasquez
"Since you said it's not personal, this was a recurring theme certainly from Frank "Papa" Mena and Shyne Barrow that John Saldivar is not petty and vindictive and Shyne eluded to some entitlement to power. They had to be taking swipes at you, backhanding swipes."

Hon. Patrick Faber - Aspirant, UDP Leader
"How do you get to that? Just because I am the only other candidate in the race?"

Jules Vasquez
"Of course, if they are saying John Saldivar is not these things and these things are such a big issue, it means that what they are suggesting is that his opponent is these things."

Hon. Patrick Faber
"I'll say this; I will not venture down that road other than to say that I will try to keep it very civil with my colleagues as I've always done. Listen, when the convention is over in February, whoever wins, it is going be a very difficult task of merging things back together, bringing things back together. So the kind of messaging that those two colleagues that you mentioned did at the convention, I think is very unfortunate because ultimately, those are the things that make situations hard to heal later on. So I'm not going to engage in it, I will take the high road. You recall, my convention, I'm sure that if you go back and you review the transcript and you review the tape, it is there on my Facebook page, you will see that I never uttered a negative word against any of my colleagues, especially my opponent. In fact, I've always maintained the greatest love and respect for my opponent in this race the Hon. John Saldivar, we've been friends in this journey for many years and I believe that if he wins the convention, he would be a good leader and I intend to have at least one discussion with one of the two colleagues who you mentioned. One of them to me is a lost cause but the other one because I really felt maybe he just got caught up in the moment, seeing all the crowd and all of that. But I really try not to be like that, you know that in fact the resources that have been given to be in the Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture, I share with all of my colleagues."
