29 year old Alrick Carcamo was ruthlessly gunned down by a masked figure last night.
Sometime around 8:40 a gunman entered the yard of a home and furniture store on Raccoon Street extension.
Carcamo ran for his life but was pursued and gunned down, shot to the abdomen and finally collapsed in a swampy open lot a stone's throw away on Fire Lane.
We spoke to the mother of the man that discovered Carcamo's body. She says that Carcamo was targeted and that he may have been hiding out in this neighborhood.

"The young man passed right by the shop door and passed out but I didn't say anything about it because I thought it was my grandson trying to frighten my great-grand child but when I looked I saw that it wasn't that. Right after that, I didn't hear the shot or anything. When I registered it was when the police came an hour after and asked what happened, if I heard anything, then I recollected and said oh shucks I heard shots too you know, the shots went off from there and it was right out here that the shot went off and I told them that I ran inside and my grandson in law told me you go inside and let me come outside and I came inside and I told my two great grandchildren and we went inside and sat down and then right after that you heard them shoot the young man like three shots they said, three shots went off but the gun was jammed so he couldn't thing."
Carcamo's assailant escaped toward the end of Raccoon street extension. Carcamo was known to police and linked with one of the Belize City gangs and police are taking measures to contain any retaliation.
