Hon. Hulse Waits Impatiently For Immigration Report
posted (November 8, 2019)
Senator Aldo Salazar is the chairman of the the Special Senate Select Committee charged with putting together the report on irregularities at the Immigration Department. But, it's been two years in the making - and recently Salazar told the media it's not done yet, basically, because he's busy. He referred to exigencies of his personal and political life which the NTUCB called a lame excuse.

His Senatorial colleague Godwin Hulse was not so unkind - but today, when the pressed asked him about it - he seemed to be impatiently waiting:

"Do you believe it's right for it to take so long?"

Hon. Godwin Hulse
"If you judge by my experience when we did the first senate one, I delivered in reasonable time and that's was it. I would have thought that by now we would have had a report. But I continue to spur my colleagues and say would you please at some time let us have a report. I know the Honorable Salazar has been working and I guess he will deliver shortly."

Reporter
"It's been 2 years, you consider that reasonable time?"

Hon. Godwin Hulse
"Well reasonable is a subjective term, because it depends. I don't know what all the report will cover. There were a lot of witnesses and so that takes time to rehearse, to collate, to put together etc., because everybody goes up there has a hue. I know as media people I am sure you are following the US and all the hearings that they have. This gets complicated, because whenever you put persons on a stand when this report is finish whatever is said about anybody that is damaging or otherwise you also have to give them time to respond to see."

The report must go over about 200 hours or more of testimony.
