The Cathedral of St. John The Baptist Restored
posted (November 8, 2019)

One of Belize City's key historical landmarks is looking sharper than it has for a few decades!

Phase one of the restoration work at St. John's Cathedral Church has been completed. It included the stabilization, repair and refurbishment of the brickwork, windows, doors, west and east entrance gates, and roof of the building.

The restoration of the church was funded primarily through the Belize City House of Culture and Downtown Rejuvenation Project, a project funded by the GOB and The Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF).

And to celebrate the Church will hold a Thanksgiving service celebrated by Bishop Philip Wright.

The Cathedral now promises an even better experience to visitors with the establishment of a tourists' reception desk, information yard signs and the availability of a visitors' tour folder.

The Thanksgiving service for the Church's restoration will be held on Sunday at 4:00.
