A man and woman from Belize city couple are recovering from gunshot wounds after they were shot on Saturday night. It happened at the Corner of Curl Thompson and Mud streets in Belize City.
At 7:50 when residents heard shots - and 33 year old Alrick Smith, a man well known to police, was hit. Smith was turning a corner with 19 year old Aldelia Morey when they were approached by a man who fired several shots at them. Senior Superintendent Romero told us more:

"Police responded to a shooting incident at Curl Thompson street Belize City. Information was received that Alrick Smith and Aleida Morey arrived at the KHMH with gunshot injuries investigation revealed that they were on Curl Thompson street heading to a car when a male person came and fired several shots at them. They were treated at the KHMH and thereafter released."

Smith and Morey have both been released from the KHMH.
