A release this evening says that the boat master, Ernesto Delgado, the boat's operator, "San Pedro Water Jets International Limited", and the water taxi service operator, "Ocean Ferry Belize Limited" have been charged for negligence in causing the loss of life of Yamiri Guy And Kimberly Guy; Causing a vessel that was unsafe to be sent on a voyage; and, Attempting to send a vessel that was unsafe on a voyage.

The principal finding of the investigation is that the explosion was caused by a build-up of fumes from fuel leakage in an enclosed compartment, which was then ignited by a spark created by a wire attached to the bilge pump. As we have reported, 2 sisters: 10-year-old Yamiri Yasmin Guy, and 8-year-old Kimberly Melissa Guy lost their lives and six other passengers sustained various degrees of injury.
