The cops say he came after them with guns blazing - and today Kyle Chaplin went to court and pleaded guilty.
In December of 2018, the 28 year old allegedly fired upon the cops, as they pursued him through an alley in the gang infested Mayflower Street area.
The incident occurred on December 9, 2018. Four police officers responded to shots being fired in the Mayflower Street area and claim that Chaplin came after them wi9th a gun in his hand firing shots at the officers. The officers returned fire but no one was hurt in the exchange. Chaplin was later arrested and charged and pleaded not guilty to four counts of aggravated assault.
But today, he changed his plea to guilty when he appeared yesterday before Magistrate Khadeem Palmer. He was sentenced to 6 months for each count with the stipulation that the sentences are to run concurrently. Consequently, Chaplin will only serve 6 months.
