The Plane Didn't Land
posted (November 14, 2019)

Williams also discussed recent drug plane activities.  On Monday night, a suspected drug plane could be heard circling over Belize city. And on Monday morning at 2:00 AM, Corozal residents heard a drug plane - most audible in the Xaibe area. That one was reportedly being pursued by a chopper from the Mexican Army - which CTV-3 reports - had gotten permission to enter Belizean airspace in pursuit of this drug plane.

Today, Commissioner Williams would only say that the planes did not land:

Chester Williams - Commissioner of Police
"The Belizean people are at a stage where these planes have become annoying and we feel the same way. We have done a number of things and put a number of measures in place to prevent these things from occurring and as you can see, we have not heard of any in a long time. Yes, Monday night there was a low flying aircraft, we had things in place, we were tracking it as much as we could have and from all indications the plane went off into Mexico and it faded from there. There's not indication that the plane landed in Belize and if it had, you would have already received word of it. We continue to see what we can do to address these illegal plane landings in our country."

There are reports that the drug jet seen over Corozal ended up in Guatemala where it was intercepted upon landing.
