Ocelot Found Beheaded, Same Place, Same Fate As Jaguar in May
posted (November 18, 2019)
Before we get into our next story, we warn you that it has an image of a dead animal which some may find unpleasant.

The Forestry Department doesn't know who is responsible for beheading an ocelot whose carcass was found in the Dump area of Toledo. The ocelot - whose pelt somewhat resembles a jaguar - was found in a state of decomposition. The Ocelot is one of the most commonly seen wildcats in Belize but is a threatened species. It is an offence to kill an endangered species. Earlier this year in May, a beaded jaguar was found at the same Dump area. The heads are believed to be used as ornaments.
