But while police seek the public's help with this murder, there are reports of another mounting feud building in Dangriga among young men and teenage boys. Commissioner of Police Williams today assured the residents that police will maintain a strong presence in the town during the next two weeks, to contain retaliation and squash any existing beef.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"We as a department, our primary function is the protection of life and property. I know that yes at times it is difficult due to the lack of information coming to us. But whenever we do have information about anything that is about to occur, we normally act on those information. We believe in being more pro-active than reactive. But at times things do occur and we have no idea of it until after the fact, but I can assure the people of Dangriga, that just as we did over the Garifuna Settlement Day holiday, we will maintain a strong presence in Dangriga from this week going into next week. I have directed my Commander of Operations Mr. Vidal to coordinate and execute operations in Dangriga to target those persons who we believe are involved in these activities in Dangriga. So, we do what we can from a police stand point and I remain optimistic with the fact that coming at the end of this month, recruit squad number 94 will be departing the national training academy to do the on the job training across the country and Dangriga Town will receive 17 of those officers to do on the job training in Dangriga so they will be able to complement the already existing staff in Dangriga so that they can spread out and cover a wider area. With that, we will also be sending in the operational units, the G.S.U., M.I.T. and S.P.U. on a weekly basis to do operations. So, I want to ask the people to be patient with us. I know often times people ask for the police to do certain things where crime and violence is concerned, but the minute the police start to execute, then they begin to bash the police and say a number of things about us. While we are not concern about what they say, we just want to ask them to be a bit patient because if you do want results then you would have to allow the police to do their job to get that result."

Police recruit squad 94 will carry out their on the job training during the month of December.
