Man Shot in Head A Second Time, Survives Again
posted (November 22, 2019)
Tonight, 25-year-old Justin Stephens Teck, a security guard from Hunter's Lane in Belize City, is critical at the KHMH. That's after he was shot yesterday evening a few blocks away from his family's house.

At around 6:05 p.m., Teck was standing in front of a car wash on New Road - not far from the Queen Street Police Station and a police checkpoint - when a gunman came out of a nearby alley and fired several shots at him. Teck was shot to the head and the back, and was rushed to the KHMH.

And he's in the care of familiar hands. We are told that Teck works for the security company which is in charge of the KHMH security. He is described as mannerly and pleasant while on the job site. Friends of his are shocked that he was targeted in this manner. They tell us that he is not known to be connected to any street or underworld type activity that would cause him to have dangerous enemies. This is not the first time that Teck has been shot, however.

In September 2011, back when he was a 16-year-old high school student, someone shot him in the head at close-range, while he was riding his bicycle on Freetown Road. That bullet entered the back of his head, and exited through the temple. Fortunately for Teck, he survived that injury. It was believed at that time that he was targeted simply because of the neighborhood he lives in.
