Tonight 2 men and a minor are missing and there are grave concerns for their safety. 22 year old Sheldon Gibson, Elijah Usher, and Kevin Roches, a minor, left Belize City on Friday Morning in a white skiff called the Lorraine to go fishing off Mapp Caye. They have yet to return.
Family members of Gibson and Usher reported them missing on Saturday morning but, as yet ,have received no new information as to their whereabouts or the whereabouts of the vessel.
We spoke to one of Gibson's family members today and she told us how hurt they are at the prospect of his lifeless body floating among mangroves.

"Well so far the, well I was out at Caye when I got the information, you know, I came in and so far we really aren't getting no kind of answer. No police, no coast guard hasn't come, you know, to tell us well oh we went and did a search and you know some kind of information because, you know, I mean he was a loved one to us you know and it really hurts us to know that he's out there probably somewhere floating. And you know probably in the mangrove or sea whatever. It really hurts us to know that he's out there and you know nobody is really paying us any mind or giving us any kind of information. Its like we won't get any justice and it's not right. I mean somebody should answer. We need answers. We need at least find his body for closure. That is not him, because when he goes to sea he would spend one night only. Most of the time it's just like one day and back, so for him to be missing from Friday until now, that's not him. He leaves behind one daughter, so I guess we have to look out for that child now because he isn't here. But when we look at her, we will try to remember him. He was a nice person. He was easy to understand. Whosoever out there did whatever to him could have just talked to him before, if they took his life or whatever they did to him - they could have just talk to him, because he was a person easy to understand."
We note that the family of Sheldon Gibson has known loss before. In August of 2017 his brother Windell Gibson, also a fisherman, was the victim of a shooting which took place at the Conch Shell Bay Fish Market.
