Home Invader Tied Up Three Adults
posted (November 25, 2019)
Tonight, 43 year old Doretha Vernon, a resident of Raccoon Street Extension in Belize City, is recovering from a terrifying home invasion.

An armed burglar broke into her house last night around 9:00 and tied her and a female friend up. He also tied up and gagged a man who arrived home during the aggravated burglary.

The burglar then ransacked the home for whatever valuables he could find. After digging through all the rooms, he escaped with several of her personal belongings.

This morning in Belmopan, police didn't want to say too much about this crime:

ACP Joseph Myvette - Head, NCIB
"Last night, sometime around 9:20 p.m., police were called to an area on Raccoon Street Extension, to the home of one Doretha Vernon, who reported to police that sometime shortly before 9 p.m., whilst she and another friend were in her home, her house was entered into by a male person armed with a knife. He then tied them up and searched the building. In the process, a number of personal items were stolen from them. They were not injured during the process. At this point in time, police are seeking one person, who we believe can assist in this investigation."

Reporter
"Do they have any ideas who this assailant could have been?"

ACP Joseph Myvette
"I'm not going to go into the details of that either."

As you heard, Police are looking for one person at this time.
