posted (November 25, 2019)
He allegedly snatched a gold chain from a magistrate - and tonight 21 year old Tyrell Robinson is in jail.

It happened on Saturday morning around 9:00 when MagistrateTanisha Smith was walking on West Collet Canal Street near the Michael Finnegan Market.

That's when a man ripped her $2,000 gold chain from her neck. The culprit only managed to get away with the medal, valued at $200. But the chain broke and was left behind as the snatcher darted. The police apprehended Robinson shortly afterwards but they did not recover the medal.

Today in court, he was charged with theft and attempted theft when he appeared before the Chief Magistrate, Sharon Fraser. Robinson was also charged with damage to property. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor objected to bail and his objection was upheld by Chief Magistrate Fraser who remanded him until December 30th.
