And today at the police press briefing in Belmopan, Head of National Crimes Investigation Branch Joseph Myvett gave us more details in this case. Myvette told us that Dardano's friend who reported her missing said that after calling her phone many times, a man finally answered and gave her conflicting stories regarding Dardano's whereabouts. Although police can't confirm if that man is Dardano's boyfriend, they have him detained for questioning. Myvette also said that Dardano and her boyfriend were seen in Hopkins on Friday night. "Hopkins police were called by a concerned citizen who reported to them that she was calling Wendy Dardano, fifty years American national, cell phone where she was answered by a male person. Previous to that, she made several calls from earlier in the day which were again answered by a male person who gave her different accounts as to her whereabouts which caused her to get suspicious and as a result she called Hopkins Police who visited Miss Dardano's house in Hopkins Village where upon arrival they encountered her common-law husband. As a result, a conversation was held with him and he was eventually detained. Police then went back to the area shortly thereafter where a search was conducted on the entire house and yard where later in a blue plastic drum in front of the yard, they discovered the apparent lifeless body of Miss Wendy Dardano inside the barrel."

"What we do know is that sometime after 11p.m. on the previous night, they were both seen going to a shop within the village and they seemingly were at several other locations prior to that time."

"Does your investigation show a history of maybe domestic violence or dispute between this couple?"
ACP Joseph Myvett
"There was none reported, but yes it was brought to the police attention, but there was none reported to the police per say that any reported was logged in regards to that."
Police say they are not sure where Dardano was killed and that there weren't clues at the house to show where she was killed or what weapon was used. We will keep following this case.
