BAPDA Says Documenting Disabilities Could Save Lives
posted (December 2, 2019)
This Morning, the Belize Assembly for Persons with Diverse Abilities launched the first national disability I.D. cards.

It is estimated that in the population there are 15% persons with disabilities. While physical disabilities are often identifiable and therefore immediately acknowledge certain mental disabilities can be far less so.

BAPDA's board believes that being an undocumented disabled person can be problematic and even dangerous in certain situations.

The aim of the Assembly's national I.D. cards is that they know where persons from the disabled population are, have them photographed, and give them the opportunity to reach out and join the registry for BAPDA. Here's more.

BAPDA can be reached at BAPDA.Belize@gmail.com or 631-0724 which is also a whatsapp number.
