Saldivar Swoons At Mason Verdict
posted (December 3, 2019)
And in a surprising move, John Saldivar, the Minister of National Security has released a public statement on the guilty verdicts for murder against William Mason and his employees.

Now, as viewers will remember, Mason's key defense witness was a US Federal Agent who put in a statement that Mason had told him that Saldivar was framing him. Saldivar denied this as baseless hearsay.

But, Saldivar's former business connections to Mason caused him a major political headache when Pastor Lue's murder became headline news. Those connections caused Prime Minister Barrow to temporarily remove Saldivar as the Minister of National Security.

And, today, he released a peculiar statement - seeming to publicly breathe a sigh of relief. In it Saldivar says, quote, "I want to first thank the Almighty for working through his instruments here on earth to secure this clear and resounding victory for the Lucas family and all the friends of Pastor Llewelyn Lucas. Justice has been served.

I also want to thank the Director of Public Prosecution and her staff, the investigators of the Police Department, the Scenes of Crimes Technicians, the witnesses, and all who played a part in securing this guilty verdict. The perpetrators of this heinous crime have been brought to justice.

Though the verdict cannot bring back Llewelyn, it is my hope that the family can find some solace in this triumph of our justice system. Let us now work on the way forward to making our country more secure and prosperous." End quote.

Political observers say that Saldivar's candidacy for UDP leadership may have taken a hit if Mason were acquitted and started telling tales - which, made up or not, affect political perception.
