Deputy Prime Minister Patrick Faber represented Belize at the Meeting of Vice Presidents of Member States of the Central American Integration System (SICA) in El Salvador. In a press release it states "the meeting was part of the ongoing agenda of SICA member states to address issues of regional importance…such as the fight against poverty, the impact of climate change and natural disasters, sustainable development, security, education, culture, energy, tourism, gender equality, the rights of older persons and those with disabilities as well as the rights of indigenous peoples and people of Afro-descent."
