Missing Man Found Decapitated at Border
posted (December 5, 2019)

Missing teacher from San Jose Succotz Elito Puc has been found decapitated body in an area about 60 meters from the Belize - Guatemala border.  It was found  on property belonging to Jorge Espat - the same property that’s been in the news because Guatemalans are encroaching on it.

And now, it is a crime scene.  Puc’s body was found there today decapitated, and in an advanced state of decomposition. A police report says, quote “The body was observed with various injuries.â€￾

Police are saying it is a John Doe at this hour, while Puc’s family from Succotz village, confirmed that it is their brother, 47-year-old Elito Puc who has been missing since Thursday the 28th of November.

This morning, before the discovery was made, Police told us they had been talking to their counterparts in Melchor:

Supt. Alejandro Cowo - OC, CIB
“I have been in communication with the investigator who had shared additional information that yes they are in contact with their counterparts in Melchor and both of them are doing searches within areas based on information that they are receiving from the family and other areas that they are, have information, and they are checking these areas. I was informed that the family was in Melchor yesterday for the discovery of this human skull where they are saying that it is apparently not the skull of their loved one. So that person is still considered a missing person at this time. There is nothing up to know that is pointing to us that he had gone through immigration and he had stamped a passport or had a permit to go across the border.â€￾

And while police say there is no record of Puc making a border crossing, when he left on November 28th, 47 year Puc left his workplace at Silva’s Bus parking lot in Benque Viejo Town to have the oil changed in his vehicle in Melchor de Mencos, Puc was supposed to return that night but did not.
