Hulse Knew Not Mason
posted (December 5, 2019)

Last night, we took you back to Tuesday's guilty verdict against the accused murderers, William Danny Mason, Ashton Vanegas, Keiron Fernandez, Terrence Fernandez, and Ernest Castillo. The biggest story of this news week is they have been convicted of the 2016 murder of Pastor Lewellyn Lucas.

Our story last night was to demonstrate how Mason, the man who the DPP prosecuted in this trial as the mastermind behind Pastor Lue's gruesome end, made a lot of friends in high places, including elected politicians and senior police officers. Well, in that story, you saw Minister Godwin Hulse, who famously visited Mason's Intelco Hill home only once in June 2016. He went there to meet Deputy Prime Minister Patrick Faber after his swearing-in ceremony when he became DPM.

Hulse has contacted us to reiterate that this was the one and only time he has had any sort of contact with Mason. So, for context, we revisit his interview explaining how he ended up at Mason's Intelco Hill Home. Here's that conversation from July 22, 2016:

Our story from last night also showed a newspaper article that was published in the Amandala in August 2016. That was when Mason was claiming that Assistant Police Commissioner Edward Broaster allegedly reached out to him for donations. Broaster denied that back then, and today, he reiterated to us that he had, quote, "no association whatsoever with that man."  In 2016 he said that 3 weeks prior to the death of the pastor he received a message form another police officer saying that Mason wanted to meet him and he refused."
