Kandice Morrison, National Director, Special Olympics Belize
"It is something that all districts and the community looks forward to coming and the displaying of the talents that we see here, it is very important that the kids have an opportunity to play and compete and that families come out because families and parents of course come out and support their children on this day that they can cheer them on, I don't know if you can see in my background but we have a lot of activities that is happening at the same time and it is all for the overall benefit of our athletes."

"We also have special smiles, the dental check up and then we have general health promotions where you see the shakes they are making, bananas and giving healthy treats to our athletes at this time."

"Next year we would like to see more support as fans to come out and cheer on the kids so they can have an audience so they can have someone and feel like the whole community is behind them and we would also like to say that it may seem small but this means a lot to the population we are serving."

There are 725 registered kids in Belize who have some form of disability. There are many who are still not receiving treatment.
