Rogue Cop Roughs Up Youth
posted (December 9, 2019)
Police are reeling from another embarrassing display of what can only be called "brute force and ignorance" after a security video leaked. It was captured last night on Faber's Road just after 8:00, when Anthony Tillett went to the corner store to pick up some groceries for hiS mother. He told us that when the police pulled up, he was expecting to be searched and kept his eye on the officers. But, one of the cops from the Special Patrol Unit didn't take too kindly to that, and asked Tillett what he was watching. Tillett asked the officer if he's not allowed to watch him. And that's when the cop - as can be seen on the video starts choking Tillett roughly…and then starts punching him while another officer is holding the youth.

It's ugly bully behaviour that we've seen so many times, and, all for what? Tillett had committed no offense and wouldn't be charged for anything. Looks like another case of police chancey behavior - and, today, the head of national crimes said he had just seen it:..

ACP Joseph Myvett
"I have just seen that before coming into the press briefing. I know that definitely there is going to be an internal investigation into the matter."

Reporter
"Whats the procedure, in terms following up?"

ACP Joseph Myvett
"Yes, there will be an internal investigation and certainly the complainant will be contacted by the Professional Standards Branch where a statement will be recorded from him and then an investigation will be carried out."

Reporter
"Are there concerns within the department that you guys have "rogue" officers out there acting in manners unbefitting of such a discipline force and department?"

ACP Joseph Myvett
"I am not going to say that other than to say that every infraction that is committed by police officers are investigated by the Professional Standards Branch and actions are taken in respect to those complainst or investigations."

Tillett went to the hospital today for a medico legal form because he wishes to take action against the police.
