Tonight the parents of 22 year old Devon Tariq Lopez, a resident of Belize City, are worried for his safety. That's after he received a call from a friend last week who he was to meet in the Belama area. Lopez was reportedly seen in that area thereafter - but there's not much to go on after that.
Police say that the investigation may be hindered by the fact that Lopez's family waited an entire week before they reported him missing.
Today, the head of CIB told us more:

"We have received a missing person report. On Saturday Devon Tariq Lopez, 22 years old of a Belama Phase 3 address was reported missing by his parents. We were told that he has been missing from the 2nd December of this year. We have been in communication with family members and friends trying to establish the whereabouts of Mr. Lopez but up to this time we have not received any other information. He was last seen in the Belama area. We are told by family members that he had received a call and he was to meet a friend that was the last time that they saw him leaving from in that area."
Lopez is known to police.
