The International Monetary Fund has concluded its Article IV consultation with Belize. Their conclusion? That Belize's economic recovery continues but the pace is slowing. They say the medium-term outlook remains challenging, when real GDP growth is projected at just below 2 percent. They note also that public debt remains elevated, at above 90 percent of GDP, and add, quote, "violent crime poses risks to growth, competitiveness, and macroeconomic stability."
