Deon Badillo Died and Police Said, Did Nothing
posted (December 10, 2019)
A Hattieville mother is calling on the police as well as the KHMH for answers in her son's death. Josephine Badillo told us that her son, 27 year old Deon Badillo was knocked down off his bicycle on the morning of Thursday November 21st. Badillo was heading to work when a man driving a motorcycle hit him from behind at mile 15 on the Western Highway. Badillo survived the initial hit. He didn't have any visible life-threatening injuries. Still, he was taken to the KHMH but his mom says Badillo was discharged from the hospital the same day of the accident. Well, at the moment Badillo seemed fine and he and his mother went to the police station to make a report on the accident. But days later Badillo began complaining about pain to the head and neck. Badillo was later taken back to the KHMH where he died last week Tuesday morning - a week and half after the accident. Here is her story.

Josephine Badillo, Mother
"When I get there, they came and told me that he is discharged, I took him home and then It took him to the police station but the police tell me take him home until the next day, that is the Friday and I took him home and then the morning early before 6:00, me and him get up and we went to make the report at the station so he could give his statement."

Courtney Weatherburne:
"And the police hasn't given any update on his case?"

Josephine Badillo, Mother
"They no tell me nothing, I stay have to go to the station and tell them what is happening to my son."

"They time now Sunday morning, the little boy start with no eat, no drink, he no drink water, no nothing, he say his appetite gone because they time he was still talking but he is not talking that good, he isn't watching you none at all when he is talking, all he say is that his head is hurting, from his neck to his head, when you are talking to him or hailing him like he is going from himself."

"It is the Thursday, I pay $5 to let a taxi come in and take him to the clinic by Hattieville and that is how we met two doctors at the clinic."

Courtney Weatherburne:
"What exactly the doctors and nurse say, did they finally do a x ray or scan on his head?"

Josephine Badillo, Mother
"Well they ask me that and I told them they did a body one and that is what they told me they did so they said they didn't do the right thing, they should not have sent him out."

"So they took him and put him on the bed and they start to give him drips and they sent for the ambulance and they brought him to town at the emergency room and right there they took him and from when they took him there, that is where he laid until he died."

"Before he dead he tell me he is giving the report so he could get justice to let the know the man belongs in prison for what he did to him."

Badillo leaves no kids behind. Badillo's family says they need all the assistance they can get to bury their son so if you would like to assist you can call 631-7545.
