There has been another fatality on one of Belize's major highways. It happened after 3:00 this afternoon on the Valley Road, which is in the Alta Vista area, a stretch of the Hummingbird Highway. There was a massive head-on collision between a Toyota Rush SUV and a Ford Passenger van.
Reports say that one of the vehicles may have been trying to overtake and ended up directly in the other's lane -causing the high speed head on.
Unofficial reports say there was one fatality and multiple persons injured - who were rushed to the Southern Regional. It caused a traffic jam that lasted for hours and extended for miles.

It is of note that the last multiple fatality two weeks ago was also caused by an overtaking vehicle. That left 7 dead.
