Shooting Victim Survives Night On The Side of A Picado Road
posted (December 16, 2019)
So, while Hattieville police are investigating the Roberts murder, they must also determine what was behind the shooting of a Belize City man. It is believed that his assailant or assailants shot him last night and left him for dead on an unnamed road.

He's 37-year-old Brian Harris, who's a resident of Belama in Belize City, but according to police, they found him this morning suffering from multiple gunshot injuries on a picado road off mile 17 and a half on the George Price Highway.

It is unclear why Harris was in the vicinity of Hattieville. We pressed for answers:

Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero - Deputy Head, NCIB
"On Monday, the 16th day of December 2019, around 9 a.m., police responded to a picado road area in Hattieville, by 17 miles, where they found Brian Harris, 37-year-old, with gunshot injuries. He was immediately taken to the KHMH for treatment, and he remains admitted at the KHMH at this time."

Jules Vasquez
"Is it a fact that he appears to have been shot last night, and then found this morning."

Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero
"The information gathered is that shots were heard in that area from last night. The police made checks but did not find anyone. This morning, some persons in that area found him there."

Jules Vasquez
"Now, we know that there was a murder in Hattieville on Saturday night. Are these two things related by any chance?"

Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero
"Well, we will look into that as part of the investigation. At this time, he was taken to the KHMH for treatment. Hopefully, he recovers, and we can interview him."
