Man Says His Son Was Killed At Sea
posted (December 20, 2019)
And while Bennet promises to increase patrols around Mapp Caye, Sheldon Gibson's father is claiming that the Coast Guard know exactly what's going on out there. He spoke to us off camera earlier today, and told us that he believes his son was murdered on the very same day he left Belize City.

Voice of: Windell Gibson
"Well I wasn't there when they killed him but he died 4:00 the same day, you hear me, and they shot him up in the guts with machine guns and that's why he couldn't float. They won't find the body because once your guts have burst you can't float."

"Fourteen people have died right at Mapp Caye and there's no motive no how will I give one. All them people died at the same spot, you know."

"The three of them that went, the four that went, my son all of them died in the same spot."

"One set of people are doing it. One set of people are doing everything there and government knows and the coast guard knows."

"They know, those people they're collecting money because everytime they search their cabs they never have guns and they have the most guns at sea."

"My son you know i will big up my son, my son was a good son he wasn't a person like that but he was with the wrong people that is why they shot him.It was somebody else that he had in his boat but if they killed that person they had to kill him too. Cause if they hadn't killed them and they came ashore they would have talked and that would have burst the whole bubble."

Cherisse Halsall:
"So what do you think about the situation at sea?"

Voice of: Windell Gibson
"The situation no bad if you no go fast with people thing nobody will kill you , if you no find drugs or have drug money nobody will kill you. If you're passing up and down the spot they won't kill you but if you're diving for people stuff they will kill you."

Cherisse Halsall:
"So you think that somebody who was in that boat with your son was involved in drugs?"

Voice of: Windell Gibson
"Nope, he was wanted because he use to go with other people and raid the people's pot. My son wasnt a raider, but he owns the boat. It's like I have a boat and I don't know nothing about sea, and you tell me to lets go to sea, I go with you and makes $400-$500 I would want to go back again, not knowing that it was people thing they were messing around with. That is what happened right there. He was with the crowd also."

Remains have yet to be found for any of the three men that disappeared on November 22nd in Gibson's boat the LORRAINE.
