A man was crushed to death at a construction site in Georgeville when he was crushed between two pieces of heavy equipment. It's a bizarre accident that happened in a construction yard belonging to famed contractor Imer Hernandez.
Assistant Commissioner Joseph Myvette gave us the details as police know it.

"On Friday last sometime around 9:30 pm Police were called to a construction garage just outside of Georgville Village on the George Price Highway which is between mile 60 and 61, whereupon arrival they saw a Hispanic male later learned to be William Orellana 45 years of a Benque Viejo town address apparently motionless with severe injuries. What the police know so far is that shortly before that time Mr Orellana was involved in the cleaning of equipment to be exact the washing of one of those heavy equipment trucks which was on one of those stands and apparently the stand that it was on sunk and it was parked just beside another vehicle which caused it to lean towards where the other vehicle was crushing him, as a result, the truck was partially removed from there and upon the police's arrival he was observed to be on the ground motionless. Police are investigating this matter."
It is being treated as an accidental death - though there are suggestions that someone may have been in one of the trucks.
