posted (December 27, 2019)
On Monday we told you that Police investigators in Punta Gorda were investigating the violent and puzzling murder of Anthony Brown Jr., a retired educator who was living alone near the Elridgeville Community in the Toledo District.

You'll remember that first responder allegedly found Brown in a crouching position in the living room area of the house. His hands and feet were tied and it appears that he was stabbed to his neck and upper body.

And today, four days after Brown's vicious murder Sr. Superintendent Hilberto Romero could only tell us that police are searching for two suspects in what he calls an ongoing investigation.

Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero
"Investigations reveal that he was at home when he was attacked by 2 male person who inflicted the injuries to him, thereafter they fled the scene. The boy was taken to the Punta Gorda Hospital where he was pronounce dead on arrival. In regards to this investigation we are looking for 2 male persons at this time."

Reporter
"Mr. Brown was a retired teacher, any idea what a motive could be in his murder?"

Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero
"We have not established any motive at this time. The investigation is ongoing."

Residents of Punta Gorda tell us that Brown and his family migrated to the US but he returned several years later. At the time of his killing, he was retired, but employed as a lecturer at the University of Belize's PG Campus. He is remembered fondly by fellow community members.
