Police Haven’t Upgraded Charges on Chanteuse’s Teenaged Shooter
posted (December 30, 2019)
Last month, Police arrested and charged a 16-year old for three counts of attempted murder, three counts of use of deadly means of harm, 2 counts of dangerous harm, and one count of wounding in the shooting that has ultimately led to Chanteuse Martinez's death.

While you might expect to be upgraded to murder, Superintendent Alejandro Cowo told us first they need to see the result of the postmortem examination of Chanteuse Martinez's body.

Supt. Alejandro Cowo, O.C., C.I.B., Eastern Division
"There was a minor who was charged. Most naturally, we have to wait for the results of the post-mortem and thereafter we will decide if the charges will be upgraded to murder."

"is it believed that it was from those injuries that she sustained, because I believe she was released from the hospital?"

Supt. Alejandro Cowo
"She was never discharged. She was admitted since she was shot on the 24th, she remained at the hospital until passing away so we have to wait on the post-mortem results and thereafter on the doctor's report and then we will proceed with the upgrading of the charges, if anything."

Sandra Petillo has asked for the police to, quote, "Do their jobs" in the matter of her daughter's death which the family believes is the result of injuries she sustained in the November 24th shooting.
