Today, an official funeral was held for Onesimo Pech, the former one term UDP Area Representative for Orange Walk South.
The former schoolteacher served as a member and deputy speaker of the house between 1984 and 1989.
An official funeral was held for him today at St. John's Cathedral in Belize City where the official remembrance was given by acting Prime Minister Patrick Faber. He said, that Pech, quote, "will be remembered for serving with integrity and modesty. And when his term of public service was completed he retreated from the spotlight with grace and humility…". End quote.
Notably, his son Marco Pech went on to be the UDP standard bearer for Orange Walk South.
