As we told you at the top of the newscast - 2020 didn't start out anything like 2019.  Thankfully, there's not much violence to report - and the only civilian shooting making news tonight is on where 23 year old Lukie Barrow was shot on New Year's Eve.  

Barrow lives in the CET site area and he came under fire at around 7:30 pm.  Superintendent Alejandro Cowo is in charge of the CIB investigation:

"On Monday the 30th just before 8:00 pm Police went to the hospital where they observed Lukie Barrow 23-year-old Belizean of a Cet site address suffering from an apparent gunshot wounds to his body. What we understand is that Mr. Barrow was walking towards his residence when he was approached by someone who fired shots at his direction causing him injuries to him. So far Police have spoken to him but we have not received an entire detailed account of the event from him. He was discharged yesterday from the hospital. Up to now we have not established a motive."
