We also asked Peyrefitte about his bid for the post of UDP Chairman. The UDP's big national convention is only weeks away - and the lists of divisional delegates have now been sent in and finalized. Peyrefitte says he feels confident he can campaign to the 569 delegates in the limited time.

And while Peyrefitte said he is fine with the list of delegates, not every one is. And in fact there are grumblings of discontent in some quarters. Reports say that in some divisions, delegates were put on the list without going through the process stipulated in the party constitution. Reports add that in some divisions, delegates were not even sworn in.
This exclusive process is allegedly to facilitate a list of divisional delegates who can be tightly controlled by the area representative or standard bearer.
As we said there are rumblings of discontent, and we have also seen a draft letter intended to the Party Secretariat from one division to make an official complaint. We'll see where It goes.
