On Thursday night, the Bliss Institute will host a homage to the 250th anniversary of Ludwig Van Beethoven's birth. This homage is unique because it is being led by a group of musicians from the country Beethoven came to call home: Austria.
They have travelled to Belize to share their musical techniques while gaining inspiration from Belize's rich and distinct styles of musical expression. Cherisse Halsall found out more:
The concert at the Bliss is free. But, if you can't make Thursday's performance, fear not. The Austrian Chamber of Music has a second Belize City concert lined up for Friday at the Mexican Cultural Institute - and that is also free.
The group will also perform in San Pedro, as well as host three days of music workshops at the University of Belize's Belmopan campus from Monday, January 13th to Wednesday, January 15th.
