On Friday a 16-year-old girl became the first murder victim of 2020. Details surrounding Conorquie's murder remain vague but the cops have said that she may have been targeted due to her association with quote: "a badman".
And today superintendent Cowo gave us an update on the investigation alluding to the fact that Conorquie's boyfriend is being sought for the information he may be able to provide:
Alejandro Cowo - Supt. OC, CIB "We have spoken to her mother and to her friends and the information we have received is that probably she would have a boyfriend but I don't believe that he has been in custody as yet. There have been a number of persons detained they have been interviewed and they have been released because of not sufficient evidence to charge anyone so far. What is happening is we are trying to work with family members and other neighbors in the area but we have not definitely gotten an exact motive as to what might of led to her death. We still have another person that we are seeking at this moment."
And while the killing of 16-year-old Samantha started 2020 off on a troubling note, of note is that the last murder recorded in 2019, was also a teenaged girl, 17-year-old Chanteuse Martinez.
