In May of 2019, 28-Year-Old Christian Neal made a daring escape from the Belize Central prison and then managed to elude recapture for 7 months. That was until two plain-clothed officers managed to detain him on the riverbank of Benque Viejo Town two weeks ago. Â
And today in court, Neal plead guilty to the charge of escape before Senior Magistrate Tricia Pitts Anderson. He was sentenced to an additional year in prison for this. His fellow escapees, 31 year-old Rafael Mencias and 23 year old Wilser Echeverria received the same sentences.
