BEL Goes Back To Caye Caulker With Good News

Things have returned to normal on the island of Caye Caulker. They are no longer experiencing outages in water and electricity. You’ll remember that their tourism high season was disrupted in a major way when tourists started making mass exodus off the island. They traveled to the island for their vacations, which were ruined when both BEL and BWS couldn’t keep Caye Caulker adequately supplied with water and electricity for the Christmas and New Year Holidays.

That loss in tourism earnings caused a major uproar from the business owners in the industry. You’ll remember that last week, the Tourism Ministry executives, as well as the bosses of both utility companies, went personally to meet with residents and assure them, that the failures will be rectified.

Well, several of BEL’s representatives went back to the island today to give a follow-up report on the performance of their infrastructure over the last 5 days.
