Toddler Goes Home to Granny After Harrowing Few Days
posted (January 14, 2020)
A two-year-old toddler is home at his grandmother's house in Belize City tonight after surviving a brutal beating allegedly at the hands of his stepfather on Friday night.

To protect his identity, we won't say his name or show his picture, but the two-year-old, who was the youngest of the boys beaten, was released from the hospital sometime after 12:00 noon into the custody of his grandmother, Anne Carcamo.

Of course, it's not exactly a happy homecoming because, one of his brothers, 3-year-old Mark Fransico Tuyul Jr is dead from his blunt force injuries, while another remains in the hospital. That four year old is recovering and in a stable condition.

This evening we spoke to the boys' father Mark Tuyul about the grueling day he and his mother in law have had bringing one child home and making preparations to bury another.

Mark Tuyul, Father
"They discharged one from the hospital and he came home to his granny and I feel much better than before, because I know that as he came out its straight to her he went to. I am really right now."

"How is your other son doing?"

Mark Tuyul, Father
"He still stands bad right now. I am praying that he gets over what he has been through. As I come off from work, I am coming to check on his every day; morning and evening until they feel better. The only suggestion I got is for the granny to take care of the children, because that is their original granny and most of the time, they are here at their granny. So I feel much better than have someone else watching them."

Reporter
"Do you have any information as to whether Miss Zema Castillo will received any charges?"

Mark Tuyul, Father
"Well so far I heard that they are charging her for negligence."

A funeral for Mark Francisco Tuyul Jr. will be held on Friday afternoon between 12:00 and 1:00 at the Catholic Church in the Yabra area of Belize City.
