Troy "DJ DALLA" Flowers has consulted Attorney Kareem Musa on a lawsuit he intends to bring against Shyne Barrow. That's right, Dalla is suing Shyne, and Kareem Musa is the attorney.
That's a PUDP mix-up if ever there was one, but Dalla told us today that it's no joke. 7News has learned that Dalla is himself being sued by Bowen and Bowen for twenty-six thousand dollars. And the suggestion is that Dalla owes this money to Bowen and Bowen because Shyne used his consignment to cover the bar at last year's Music Week.
Dalla also claims Shyne failed to pay him after he served as MC at last year's Music week.
Kareem Musa confirmed that he does represent Flowers in the matter but has not filed suit as yet.
We caught up with Shyne today and asked him about the potential Lawsuit. He refused to engage the line of questioning but he says he has all his receipts.
Cherisse Halsall:
"Kareem Musa has informed us that he has been consulted on a lawsuit put forward by DJ Dalla, and he is claiming that there was a consignment of $30,000 that you took out in his name for music week that you have yet to pay."
Shyne Barrow, Standard-bearer Mesopotamia
"I have no idea about that."
Cherisse Halsall:
"He's also claiming that his fee for being the MC at music week has not been paid either and that's added on to this law suit that he's investigating with Kareem Musa."
Shyne Barrow
"Yes, I've not received any such notice and I have no idea what you're talking about?"
Reporter:
"But has he been paid or not?"
Shyne Barrow
"I have all of my receipts for all of the work that he has ever done for me so, there's no question."
Reporter:
"Because then you'd be prepared to show if you are in fact taken to court."
Shyne Barrow
"Music week was in May, I have not received any notification of anything, so it seems quite mischievous and to just put that out there in the public domain - journalism has to have some type of limits and responsibility, I mean do you have a lawsuit? Do you have a letter? If you're going to present information to me do you have a letter of consultation do you have any evidence of that? There are many rumors that you don't follow through, so I just have to wonder how do you pick and choose what rumors you follow through on. Here I am - I was wondering why you guys were here, because it's very suspicious that you cover anything that I do, but now it seems very clear why you came to ask that question."
Shyne also says that quote: "Dalla attempting to drag me into the mud with him and it's disappointing."
