Did DPM Faber Get Money From Mason? Claim Denied!
posted (January 15, 2020)
In our first segment we heard almost everything significant from the press conference, but afterward, the press spoke with the Prime Minister in another impromptu session.

We asked him about an explosive allegation made yesterday by his son Shyne Barrow.

Reporter
"In an interview yesterday Shyne Barrow has asserted that Danny Mason had paid Patrick Faber $200,000.00. Do you know anything about that?"

Rt. Hon. Dean Barrow, Prime Minister
"Mike, I'm not going to go there."

Hon. Mike Peyrefitte
"He said it was an allegation. Shyne didn't say that."

Rt. Hon. Dean Barrow, Prime Minister
"Well indeed there was argument in court that a statement from a U.S. Embassy official should be admitted. In that statement he said that he had interviewed Mason while Mason was in custody and Mason told him certain things, the judge I think only allowed him a portion of that statement. For what it is worth, he did claim that Mason has said certain things about Patrick Faber. I spoke to Patrick about it and he said its absolute nonsense and I completely believe him."

Jules Vasquez, reporter
"He (Mason) said that he gave Frank Mena, which Frank Mena has admitted and returned. He say he gave John Saldivar $50,000 which Saldivar has admitted and said was an investment in the football team. He said also that he gave Patrick Faber $150,000. I am saying then might it not suggest that the 3rd allegation may have some level of credence?"

Rt. Hon. Dean Barrow, Prime Minister
"All I will say that I put it to the Honorable Deputy Prime Minister and he said it was absolute nonsense and I believe him. Can't take it further than that."

Deputy PM Patrick Faber has also sent us a brief text message saying that allegation is completely fabricated.
