PM Says Proceed With Criminal Charges
posted (January 16, 2020)

Yesterday at the end of the press conference, we asked the Prime Minister about the audit which will be tabled in the House of Representatives tomorrow.  He said that he expects that if charges need to be filed, they should:

Reporter
"In a case like this where the auditor general is questioning certain transactions, where there is like over 400,000 dollars that they can't account for, what do you in a situation like that? Yes you take it to the house...."

Rt. Hon. Dean Barrow, Prime Minister
"I would think you use the auditor general's findings and you turn those over to the police."

Reporter
"Is that your intention?"

Rt. Hon. Dean Barrow
"Absolutely."

There are two audits, the other is of Julian Cho High School.  We note that the reports had reportedly been sitting on the Prime Minister's desk for some months. The timing is their release is curious, since, they both fall under the Minister of Sports and Education, Patrick Faber - who was the substantive minister during the period under review.  We'll keep reporting on these audits for the next few days, so stay tuned.
