Faber Denies Getting Mason Money
posted (January 17, 2020)
Faber also today again publicly denied receiving any campaign contribution from Danny Mason. As was reported earlier this week, Danny Mason told a US Federal Agent that he gave donations to UDP's John Saldivar, Frank Pawpa Mena and Patrick Faber. This was contained in a statement that a US federal agent gave as evidence in the Mason trial.

Most of the details of the statement were not introduced into evidence - and were redacted. But, slowly, details of all that Mason told that agent are coming out - and today we asked Faber about it:..

"Anything from Mr. Mason sir? He averred in what he told the DEA agent."

Hon. Patrick Faber, Deputy Prime Minister
"No, you keep on raising this topic and I will say this, that it is stirred by an inter-party, let me leave that alone."

Reporter
"But you're prepared to..."

Hon. Patrick Faber
"I have categorically said to you, I have told this nation from the onset what my very limited exposure to Mr. Mason was. I think everybody in the country knows that but I was in no way connected with him, he was never a financier."

Reporter
"But you went to his house to have a celebration party after Chon Saan"

Hon. Patrick Faber
"And that is exactly what I said I declared so why are you pretending like I'm just hiding that or something. I am saying to you sir, that I have, I have never received any campaign financing of any amount from Mr. Mason and I hope that that is the end of that."

Both Saldivar and Mena have accepted that they received funds from Mason. Mena for campaign financing, and Saldivar for his football team, the Bandits.
